After Independence, India integrated majority of princely states into the union. Over the years, there has been a lot of restructuring to reach at 36 States & UTs we have currently.
Additionally India has been in 5 major wars, conducted 17 general elections, elected 14 Prime Ministers & 15 Presidents.
